Some individuals mix the drug with energy drinks and other alcoholic beverages or take them raw as sexual enhancers.  There have been reported cases of deaths among some young people who have abused the drug. Early this year, Nyankonton Mu Nsem recorded over four deaths and 10 in 2017 as a result of the abuse of the drug.
